For my last and final project in Apollo, I decided to begin the process of achieving my biggest dream... writing and publishing my first book. I found my poetry from far and wide as well as some new pieces to put into a poetry collection.
For my Art, I created the illustrations to go with the poetry as well as the book's formatting. I had to make sure that my book's art brought not only a corresponding artwork for my poetry, but also a piece that didn't take away from my poetry. This was a challenge, but I'd like to believe I did an okay job.
For English, I wrote new poetry as well as looking over and editing old poetry. I also wrote my About the Author page. Throughout the book's journey, I went through more downs than ups. I tackled my anxiety and OCD in a way that conveys my emotions from a deeper level. I have always felt that the best of our emotions are explained through art the best, and after re-reading this work, I see that to be more of a true statement.
For Social Studies, I looked at the ideas and psychological impact of giving, as it's something that always helps me through my rougher patches. I not only learned what draws people to give in the first place, but what is given to them as a "reward" for their kindness. I decided to put these findings at the end of my book as sort of an ode to my growth and my happiness.
