All About Athena
Hi! my name's Athena and I'm a proud member of the Apollo program. Some of my interests and passions include journalism, special education, watching a lot of Netflix, drawing, painting, collaging, photography, politics, teaching, standing up for the LGBTQ+ community, loving every animal to ever exist, and writing poetry and stories. After high school, I plan on working as a special education learning assistant.
Why I Take Apollo
I decided to join the Apollo program because i get very stressed out in traditional classroom settings, and I like expressing myself through my art and my writing. Apollo gives me the freedom to learn more about my passions and show people how i see them and what there is to learn about them. I can do any kind of project and i have endless support in what i want to do. I love the academic freedom i have in this class and how everyone involved in this program loves what they're doing. Through this class, i've met some of the best people in the world, and i have a connection with the Apollo teachers (A.K.A. the dads) that i never saw myself having with any kind of teacher. The teachers will do anything to make sure your ideas happen, and they help you in any way they can whether it's with your projects, your other classes, or if you just need someone to talk to. I really don't know what i would do without the Apollo program. It's truly a life saver.
